How much does solar cost?

There is no upfront fixed price for this installtion because it depends on how many capacity of your premise can be installed and factor of weather. For more information contact us at [email protected]. Our Sales Team will be very happy to help you out.

I would love to invest in solar, but I think my roof is too old. Am I out of luck?

Safety of our customers is our number one priority. Before we proceed to install any systems at your premise, we can help you to review your roof structure to see if its suitable to invest in solar. If it is not, we will further advise to see if it is fit for reinforcement or rebuild the roof.

What happens to solar panels when it rains or is cloudy?

This is rather tricky question to be answered. Short answer is the production of the solar energy will be affected. However, we use Monocrystalline solar panels so the yield of energy during that moment is higher compared to polycrystalline solar panels. In the recent years of solar energy research, per square inch solar panel is improved relatively high.

What rebates are available for solar energy?

For commercial and industrials consumers, we can apply MIDA for Green Investment Tax Allowance (GITA) of 100% of qualifying capital expenditure incurred on green technology project from the date of application received by MIDA until the year of assessment 2023. The allowance can be offset against 70% of statutory income in the year of assessment.

Would it make sense to go solar if we use most our energy at night?

Yes, we can apply Net Energy Metering that will allow excess solar PV generated energy to be exported back to the grid on a “one-on-one” offset basis. This means that every 1kWh exported to the grid will be offset against 1kWh consumed from the grid, instead of at the Displaced Cost previously. This scheme is applicable to all domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors as long as they are the customers of TNB. The PV systems can be installed at available rooftops or car porch within their own premises.

Is there a capacity limit?

The maximum allowable capacity for domestic consumers are 12kWp for single phase system and 72kWp for three phase system. The maximum allowable capacity for commercial and industrial businesses are 75% of the maximum demand or 60% of current transformer rating.
